We had Elena's weight check today. Well, the doctor has diagnosed her as a peanut. She weighed in at 8lbs 12 oz today. Babies the age of Elena are supposed to gain 4-7 ounces a week. Elena averaged 4 a week for the last three weeks so she's just squeaking by. Elena is a pretty happy baby so the doctor said we should not be concerned. We will return to the doctor for Elena's regular 4 month check-up in November.
I am continuing with my "Fat Diet" as I call it. I don't want to get into bad habits so I've been having a Clif Bar and 2% milk (instead of skim) to increase my fat intake.
Elena continues to be a smiley baby during the day. Around 5pm she has her fussy time, but we're still able to calm her. When Eric gets home from work, he spends most of his time bouncy on the yoga ball with Elena. Then, from 8pm-10pm we fill Elena with a combo of breast milk and formula. This usually guarantees 5 hours of sleep before she wakes to feed again.
In other news, we are Aunt and Uncle again to Marion Isabella Hereley. She was born on September 27, 2010. Sara and Pat Hereley are the proud parents and Evelyn is the proud big sister.
