Today we got Elena's first Christmas Tree! We went to Hann's Christmas Tree Farm in Oregon. It's just south of Madison. We had never been there before, but my brother's family was going to go there. It had just snowed so we were anxious to try out Elena's new sled. We bundled her up and headed out to meet up with my parents and my brother's family. When we got there, we put Elena in her sled right away. She loved it! It was pretty windy so I ended up carrying her. She looked like a starfish in her snow outfit. (Adorable, of course!)
We headed out to look for a tree. Since it was a little chilly we made a quick choice on a beautiful Balsam Tree. Elena and I left Eric to cut down the tree. We headed into the gift shop for some yummy apple cider. We really enjoyed this tree farm. The prices were great, the trees were beautiful, Santa was there, and there was even a play structure for kids. Dogs are even allowed. Next year, we'll have to take Mulligan.
Once we got home, the tree suddenly looked much larger. After the top scraped the ceiling, we realized we'd have to trim it. Eric ended up taking about a foot off the tree. Then, we even convinced my mom that she should come over and "help" decorate the tree. Let's just say that I didn't even put one ornament on the tree. It was great! I don't really enjoy decorating the tree and my mom does such a great job. Our tree looks beautiful! We're hoping to continue this tradition in years to come. :) Thanks, Mom!
We are so excited to celebrate Elena's first Christmas!
