Sleep Deprived, but Overjoyed

Monday, August 9, 2010
It has been an interesting four weeks. For the first two weeks, I mainly worked on recovering and watched Elena sleep. During the day, Elena spends most of her awake time eating. She has started to have about 1-2 hours where she is awake and will tolerate me trying to play with her. I love watching her, especially when she does her stretching. It takes her quite a while to fully wake up. We've had a few outings. I have ventured out to Target, school, and Mother/Baby hour. We also went an spent a couple afternoons with my parents while they were watching my brother's kids. We've also gone for a few walks.

We're still working on the nighttime routine. Elena only sleeps about 2 hours before wanting to eat. We've had a couple nights where she had one 3 hour section. We've found that we can survive on far less sleep then we could have possibly imagined.

This past Saturday, Eric, Elena, and I had a nice couple of hours around town. We went shopping to try to find something for Elena's one month pictures. We didn't find anything but ended up adding a few toys to her collection. We also stopped by Olbrich Gardens and had lunch at the Daisy Cafe.

I can't believe it's already been almost a month.
